London – July 18, 2014 – Young Professionals and Skilled Workers Association (YPSWA) successfully participated in the International Farnborough Air Show, which takes place near London every two years and brings together all the industry’s players across the globe to showcase the latest technological innovations. This year, the show took place from July 14th to July 20th.

YPSWA joined more than 500 other Canadian companies and professional associations, who were part of the Canadian aerospace pavilion and displaying their innovations and services.

YPSWA members participated in several B2B meetings with the Italian Finmeccanica, which is the second largest industrial group in the world and the largest hi-tech industrial group in the world; with Bombardier Aerospace Commercial Aircrafts, the third largest plane manufacturer in the world; with the President of AIAC, Jim Quick; with SAAB – Sweden’s international multi-vectored military and civil concern; with Nebtesco – Japanese giant in development of actuators and with Satair – a world leading supplier of aircraft parts and service solutions for aircraft maintenance. All meetings were constructive and common interests were found and discussed.

In addition, YPSWA treasurer Taras Paslavskyi met with the Quebec Minister of the Economy, Innovation and Exports, Mr. Jacques Daoust.

YPSWA was at the Farnborough Air Show in order to better understand the role of various not-for-profit associations in the aerospace industry. In the course of meetings in Farnborough, special attention was paid to women in aerospace companies and women organizations around the world that are active in the aerospace sector.
