YPSWA’s New Project Mentors and Engages Seniors, Adults and Youth

Young Professionals and Skilled Workers Association (YPSWA) is proud to launch this Fall season a new project that will mentor and engage seniors, adults and youth, alike.  YPSWA’s new project is called “Expression through the Arts”(ETA) and is based on the premise, “art by seniors for seniors, adults and youth”.  This project is open to all interested individuals, who want to improve their art skills and techniques or simply paint for pleasure in the circle of friends, peers, helpful mentors and youth.  In fact, no prerequisite skills are necessary in order to participate in the ETA project.

The goal of this project is to have seniors mentor seniors, adult, youth and/or youth mentoring seniors.  All participants will decide together on art subjects, topics and designs by tapping in to their cultural, ethnical, artistic life experiences.  Diversity amongst participants will help them to create their art.

Through this project, YPSWA also attempts to combat in the community isolationism among seniors, narrow down the intergeneration gap between seniors and other groups of society as well as provide meaningful opportunities for young artists to collaborate with older and more professional artists.

Location of workshops will be released later – stay tuned for more information.  Limited spaces are available. Hurry to register by calling 647-831-2139 or by writing to info@associatincanada.org or by visiting www.associationcanada.org/

YPSWA is a not-for-profit and federally registered and community-based organization, which offers a great way for young professionals, skilled workers and apprentices to network, socialize and expand their professional horizons.
